On 1/30/15 we took Shadow in for his checkup. Dr. Isherwood and her assistant always show special care for Shadow as he has gone thru alot. Eye surgery for both eyes. A truly dedicated Doctor and staff. Many thanks, John, Sandy and especially Shadow!

To finish the story of this poor dog: He could've lived the rest of his life, no matter how long that would have been, without having to suffer through an unnecessary surgery that only filled the wallets of the employees of this clinic. The whole point of pre-procedure testing and x-rays is to shed light on any abnormalities present... WHY my parents weren't told about his abnormal results until AFTER the surgery is a true crime. If this had happened with a doctor for humans this would be complete malpractice. Shame on this office and doctors for rushing into a surgery, putting a sick dog through stress and pain, causing distress to my family and stealing money that could have and should have been put toward cancer treatment.

I was extremely displeased with the service this clinic provided to my parents and their dog. Their 11 year old boston terrier had been experiencing eye problems, and a series of extensive testing was performed including x-rays, blood work, etc to ensure he did not have cancer or disease. Dr. Isherwood said that everything looked "normal" and that the dog simply had an issue with his tear ducts. Over $3000 for a painful surgery and a long period recovery, the dog was still having issues. Turns out the x-rays that were taken pre-procedure showed an abnormality indicating cancer, but the doctors at this office didn't think to mention that to my parents for further investigation before rushing him into surgery. MY PARENTS DOG DIED YESTERDAY. The last months of his life were spent recovering from a surgery that was a complete waste of money, time, stress and pain. My parents should have been notified about the x-ray abnormalities so they could focus on the cancer, not an eye surgery.

This clinic is only open during reg business hours m-th (not convenient for anyone that works). My dog was under their care for 6 weeks and only got worse. We've never waited for less than 30 min and sometimes over an hour without anyone offering an explanation or apology for the wait. When I complained about the way we were treated they told me "I don't know what you want me to do, it's in the past. I'm sure there are other Ophthalmologists if you're unhappy" So we found an amazing clinic in Annapolis called Eye Care For Animals. Good riddens to Dr. Isherwood.

Precious Pet Moments – Our Blog

It Ain't Easy Being Famous

My dog is a rock star at the University vet hospital. It all started with a patella surgery. During his recovery, my dog developed seizures, which destroyed the surgery. After the seizures were controlled, a second patella surgery repaired the damage. Months of inactivity on that leg caused severe muscle atrophy, so then he went in for physical therapy, starting with twice a week, and slowly over a period of months, working our way down to once every two weeks. And just now he's recovering from ACL surgery on his "good" leg. So, where's the status? When we walked into the University vet hospital this time, the receptionists checked us before we reached the c [...]
